I'm passionate about community, story telling, adventure and yoga.
Hi! I’m Darci Nyal, and I have been teaching for more than ten years and hold an E-RYT® 500 certification. Over the years, I owned a thriving yoga studio, taught countless workshops, numerous retreats, trained dozens of teachers, taught hundreds of yoga classes and have seen more than 10 thousand students through my business. As a recently retired business owner, I now live on the quieter spectrum of life; embracing yoga and its benefits in a more mindful and minimalistic way.
Whether you are a student or a teacher, you’ve arrived at the right place.
Studio Ownership for 8 years
In 2014 I opened a yoga studio in Langford, BC with my then business partner Heather MacLeod. We spent 8+ wonderful years together building community, collaborating on ideas, working through major business and life challenges, and growing our families together. We taught teachers, developed sequences, and transformed the lives of thousands of people in our small town. In 2021, I sold her my shares and embarked on a new adventure with my family.
2019 Olympic Team Yoga Teacher
In 2020, I was hired on to provide 2 classes a week to Canada’s Olympic Rugby 7s team in anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics. I had been working with the mens and women’s teams since 2014 and was honoured with the opportunity to deliver meditation and functional stretching as part of the conditioning program. Unfortunately the pandemic hit mid-way through the programming and we had to end our training.
A Little About Amitié Yoga
Pronounced Ah-mit-ee-yay, I learned of this word while at a Van Gough art exhibit in Vancouver which means friendship in French. The metaphors that came flooding to me strung together a life time of teachings in one single moment. I could see every relationship I ever had in or out of alignment through this expression. Friendship is everything between each breath, between each moment, and between each day. Join me as we explore the relationships we hold with the natural world, our communities, our families, our friends and most importantly our selves.
