"Find your passion and teach from a
place of radical authenticity"

At Amitié Yoga, we are regular people living regular lives, aiming to move our bodies today and well into our later years. We prioritize our personal lives and see yoga as an accompaniment, not our entire existence. Our practice is intended to be a form of exercise that the body needs, incorporating philosophical undertones to help us deal with various aspects of life, from mental strength, body image empowerment, family challenges, trauma sensitivity and more.

We will explore modern-day science on how the body moves while embracing eastern philosophy on living simply and with integrity. This blend will give us the strength to leave the classroom and engage fully in our lives, no matter how beautiful or challenging it may be.  Completing this 200 hour Yoga Alliance Accredited Teacher Training, YTT, along with the additional 100 hour self study training will prepare you for a rich life full of wonder, curiosity and leadership.

I have had the pleasure of working with Darci at various stages of my yoga teaching career. After completing a 200-hour program with another school in 2020, I found that my confidence was not where I wanted it to be. Darci provided invaluable one-on-one support, guiding me to a level of comfort and proficiency that allowed me to teach with assurance. Through our sessions, I gained profound insights into yoga philosophy, anatomy, sequencing and teaching methodologies. Her hands-on practice sessions and personalized feedback enhanced my teaching skills and deepened my own practice. I highly recommend Darci’s training to anyone seeking to become a confident and knowledgeable yoga instructor. The experience was truly transformative, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have benefited from her expertise.

Darci is an absolute dream to work with, I hired her to support me with my YTT a few years ago. She was exactly what I needed to build my confidence for my final test and to continue on for myself. She was patient and understanding but still pushed me to my potential that I didn’t know I had but she knew. She was so generous with her time and knowledge and was able to dissolve my fears of me not being enough. She was an integral part of me actually starting and finishing my YTT journey. Do not hesitate to begin with Darci, just jump in she will support and nourish you in every aspect of this journey.

Darci’s presence is both a warm blanket and a swift kick in the arse - depending on what the moment calls for. Her candour, integrity and tenderness inspire the kind of safety that lets me feel brave. Having found myself in Victoria not knowing anyone in the yoga community there, Darci took me into her family and under her wing. Working with her allowed me to develop deep trust in my own guts; to teach from who I am, and to stay curious so that I may remain all ways a student, whose teachings are always changing as I am. I highly recommend you place your confidence in her, and into the relationship you will no doubt cultivate with yourself through your work together.

There’s something to be said about a teacher who can teach to all levels and abilities. A teacher's teacher and a first-timer's teacher. Darci is a wealth of knowledge and is so authentically herself: she’s the type of person you just want to spend more time around, hoping some of that enthusiasm and passion will rub off on you. Being a teacher is more than just directing bodies, it’s being able to see people and meet people where they are at. It’s knowing the anatomy, the history, how to direct a room and let the breath guide the class. It’s about caring for the people in front of you regardless of who they are, their background, their age or gender. Darci is that teacher. Being a teacher is about honouring and knowing the history of yoga, respecting its roots but applying it to our lives today. It’s about intelligent sequencing. Darci is that teacher. You’ll walk out of Darci’s training knowing how to teach a well thought out, intelligent class to any level of student. To be a teacher, you need to know yourself, be yourself, speak your own language and bring your own style. Darci will help you do that. When you’re around someone who is so true to herself, like Darci, you can’t help but do the same. It’ll be fun , and if you’re lucky there might even be homemade chocolate.

When I first met Darci, she was interviewing me to become a teacher and manager at one of the studios she was running. I told her how I wanted to open my own studio one day, and from that day forward she was there to support me in my goals and dreams. She’s been there as a friend and to help encourage me as a teacher, a student and when the day came, to become a studio owner. I think if you are interested in becoming a yoga teacher, know that she will be your biggest champion. I highly recommend taking her classes and if you are so lucky enough to be mentored by her.

Yes, upon completion and certification, you will be qualified to teach yoga classes.
